Notes
The Nevada County Narrow Gauge railroad was incorporated in 1874 with headquarters in Grass Valley, California. It was primarily built to service the gold mines in Placer County and Nevada County. This short line narrow gauge railroad had 22 miles of track that serviced Colfax to Nevada City.
Pictured is an early “choke barrel” key with no maker’s mark. This may have been one of the first generation keys used on the NCNG RR switch locks. This key will open a T. Slaight switch lock.
