Preserving railroad history for future generations

The Eureka and Palisade Railroad is a 3 ft. narrow gauge railroad that ran 85 miles from Palisade to Eureka, Nevada. Construction was from 1873 to 1875. This railroad was primarily built to haul silver from the mines at Eureka to railroad connections in Palisade.
This Post and Company car lock features a Jan. 1, 1878 patent date and is one of a few known examples from this narrow gauge railroad.

Operates Fitchburg marked W. Bohannon brass switch lock.

St Paul Minneapolis & Manitoba Railway (1879 – 1890) was renamed the Great Northern in 1890. The lock was around only a short time before it was traded, hence only two pictures.
